PAD march

Its the end of another month folks…I know I am sorry to break that news…
On the plus side our holiday is inching closer and closer…roll on April 24th ☺

Now we have that out of the way –

Monday reverie – vol 7

Morning!!

Today is the first day of school half term…yay! #sarcasm
I say that but its not too bad…as long as the kids sit still, don’t talk and behave lol ☺

To be fair we have had a pretty good morning –

Although now I am pretty sure that I am maxed out on the activities front..oops!

I must admit my creativity levels reach a certain point then kinda fall off the edge….
So in my collection of internet finds this week I am mixing it up a bit –

Firstly I am still having issues with James’s sleeping pattern at night. He naps by himself now, but he is a terribly light sleeper..if I roll over in bed he wakes up. So I found this article on the ABCs of sleep time – check it out

I decided to have a a little search for activity ideas to keep the kids entertained for the next 2 weeks at least..thanks to netmums I found this – check it out

FMF – break

Oh guys I am so sorry…I am a bit topsy turvy with keeping up with my Fridays…kinda makes me feel a bit rubbish.

But I will try my very best to be better ☺

Anyway, let’s play catch up shall we 😀

Today’s (or yesterdays) prompt – break

Ready in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

So just lately I reached my breaking point.
I considered myself a broken person…my heart and head felt broken.

Everything about myself felt broken.
Although I suffered somewhat in silence..I would just randomly breakdown in tears through the day.

I have been broken inside for as long as I can remember that I am surprised at how long my façade lasted.

To take a break from wearing my mask of ‘I am OK’

But once I reached my breaking point..it pushed to reach my breakthrough

Sometimes it takes a huge break to reach a moment in your life where you can finally move on to happiness.
Breakaway from the past and the hurt that has molded my being and the way I keep people at an arms length distance.
Moving forward to my I am awesome and I am going to show it breakthrough.

Here is what I do now – if I am feeling bad I break out the tea and biscuits… Or if its night time the rosé and chocolate 😉

So remember to breakaway from the bad feelings and breakthrough that barrier holding you back from happiness.

Stop.

Gosh it took me a surprisingly long time for me to put my words down today – my brain is awfully fuzzy today.

Recipe – chilli a la Charlotte

Hey hey…happy Wednesday.

Gosh this week has been just horrendous – trying to make a 2 year old take medicine is hard enough..but trying to make her use an inhaler and chamber is like impossible.
So my blog has been somewhat neglected this week, unfortunately.

Today then I plan on sharing my chilli recipe.
Now I promise that some of the ingredients may seem unorthodox..but trust me 😉

Alright, who likes chilli?!
Who doesn’t is the more pertinent question.

Oh I must warn you now I don’t tend to be specific with weights and measurements when it comes to a recipe – this is what we Brits call winging it.
So feel free to use as much or as little mince as you want 😀

500g mince beef
1 onion
2 red chillies
Garlic
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tin red kidney beans
Tsp sugar
Tsp salt
1 cup black coffee
Chilli powder


Cook the chillies, onion and garlic in olive oil until softened
Add the mince and cook until browned.
Once browned add the sugar and salt, simmer for 3 minutes.
Add your tomatoes and kidney beans – I don’t drain the juice – I think it adds some more flavour!
Add your chilli powder (as much or little as you like)
Lastly, make your cup of coffee and pour into the sauce.

Allow to simmer for and hour.
It may seem that there is an awful lot of watery sauce, however after simmering for an hour the sauce will thicken nicely.

Make sure you stir the sauce during the simmering process, to avoid burning.

When I serve this tasty dish I tend to just serve on a bed of rice with some cheese yum!
However, I think it would be good with nachos, guacamole and sour cream.

It is a seriously good family dinner!

Apples and flowers and hospitals… Oh my!

Hey there,
So I had every intention of doing my usual Monday reverie post today..but unfortunate stuff occurred that has mucked up my brain thoughts today.

Long story short – Ariana started wheezing last night, hubby took her to hospital… They diagnosed congestion.
I was not convinced at all.
Call it mother’s instinct.
I took her to the doctor this morning…and she has frigging bronchiolitis!
Now she has an inhaler, antibiotics and steroids
I am really, insanely mad at the hospital for sending her home without a proper diagnosis.
Poor thing is not even eating…and she lives to eat 💟

So on that smashing side note I am going to share some more photography with you.
Hoping to get back into the swing again tomorrow
